Residential Counselors

4 DAY WORK WEEK (36 HOURS)

Seall, Inc is now accepting applications for full and part-time residential counselors for second shift. Our organization has been providing community based residential treatment programs since 1971. The ideal candidate is reliable, has excellent communication skills and must be able to offer a supportive environment as well as model respectful and appropriate behavior.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing all resident activity, assisting with recreational activities, and addressing problems quickly and effectively.

Seall’s starting pay for all new hires is $20.00 per hour. 

There is a shift differential for those who work second shift (3 PM. to 11 PM.) of $1.00 more per hour.

First and Second Shift Supervisors

These individuals will work with management to ensure safety, stability and guidance to youth in our care. These positions require the individual to work alongside of the staff they supervise.

The supervisor will possess a positive demeanor, empathy, nonjudgmental attitude and is sensitive to the needs of the program.

Youth referred to the program are in need of temporary placement to address a range of specialized issues. The program offers 24-hour staffing that provides support and supervision.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience working in a supervisory field dealing with youth is required.

JOB DUTIES:

  • The supervisor will assume responsibility for the program in the absence of Program Manager.
  • Review all daily shift documentation including but not limited to; Shift notes, daily check lists, search logs, behavior logs, appointment logs, incident reports, and medication log.
  • Ensure program house is neat and properly cared for by staff and youth.
  • Coach and mentor staff during shift.
  • Provides direct supervision to staff and assigns duties, develops expectations, trains staff on relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure positive job results for staff by monitoring and appraising job performance.
  • Verify that any restraints done on shift are in compliance with Handle with Care standards and protocols.
  • Review incident report and submit to Program Managers.
  • Insure that all youth are treated in a firm, fair and consistent manner by all staff. 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Ability to work on call
  • Must pass background check
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to verbally and physically respond to aggression in ways that de-escalate, establish and maintain staff and youth safety.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with youth while building trust and respect.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, caring, and compassion.
  • Ability to receive and apply feedback and contribute to a positive work environment.

Pay = $23/HR plus $1.00 pay differential for working second shift.
